Xpeon-Zen

Xpeon-Zen is a handy little desktop tool that helps you add a sidebar to your screen. This sidebar lets you quickly access different utilities like a note keeper, battery watcher, calculator, and search tool.

What Does the Sidebar Look Like?

The sidebar looks a lot like the Charms bar from Windows 8. It’s pretty neat! You can hide it with a smart button in the interface, and when you hover your mouse over the left side of your desktop, it pops back up automatically.

Customizable Widgets

With Xpeon-Zen, you can set up various widgets to keep tabs on different system options. For example, you can check your battery status and even get notifications when it drops below a certain level. Plus, you can choose between metro or widget styles for how they look!

Set Reminders Easily

You can also configure reminders—daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly—to help you stay organized. Want to watch memory usage? No problem! You can also kill processes that use too much memory or check for file system changes.

Note-Taking Made Simple

If you need to jot down notes, just give them a name and type out your messages. And guess what? You can lock those notes too!

Clipboard and Shortcuts

Xpeon-Zen lets you copy multiple text items to your clipboard and assign hotkeys for quicker actions. Need to do some quick math? Use its simple calculator! You can also add desktop tags and shortcuts for easy access.

User-Friendly Settings

The program offers some general settings where you can change the sidebar’s background color and font color. You even get to choose where it shows up on your screen—either on the left or right side—and decide if it should run at startup on Windows.

Performance Issues

We tried out Xpeon-Zen on Windows 8.1 Pro but ran into some bugs along the way. It crashed a few times when we tried creating widgets and sometimes became unresponsive when configuring settings.

A Simple Solution with Some Hiccups

This tool provides an easy way to create multiple widgets for monitoring different system tasks. While there are tips in the GUI about what each feature does, they aren’t always translated well into English, which might make understanding how things work a bit tricky.
