WinID is a handy little tool that works on different platforms and gives you cool details about Windows controls and programs. You can find out stuff like window titles, handles, control classes, styles, and much more.
This software is especially useful for programmers, debuggers, testers, or anyone who’s curious about how their programs are built and how they work. If you want to dig a bit deeper into your applications, this tool is for you!
Getting info from controls is super easy! Just point your mouse at any window or control on the screen. WinID will show you all the details right in its main panel. It’s like having a magnifying glass for your software!
A standout feature of WinID is its ability to capture dynamic resources—think text, icons, image lists, and more. Plus, it highlights the window you're looking at by drawing a red frame around it. This makes it simple to see what you’re working with!
By default, WinID automatically recognizes window classes. But if you want to pick your own class manually, you can do that too! There’s even a polling mode where the tool updates information at specific intervals and saves what you've gathered straight onto your hard drive.
During our tests with WinID, we noticed that it shows data quickly and without any hiccups! It doesn’t hog system resources either—so it won’t slow down your CPU or memory usage or mess with other programs.
All in all, WinID is an awesome software option that gives valuable insights about selected processes. You don’t need to be a tech whiz to use it; setting everything up takes just a few clicks!
