Windows XP Embedded Service Pack 2 Feature Pack 2007 isn’t just a standalone software. To use it, you need to have the Windows Embedded Studio tool suite installed first. This feature pack really boosts what you can do with Windows XP Embedded Service Pack 2. It gives developers new tools for embedded systems, revamps OS components, enhances servicing options, and offers powerful development tools specifically designed for embedded projects.
What’s New in Feature Pack 2007?
The updated Windows Embedded Studio now has a handy command line script interface utility. This tool is perfect for automating the entire build process from start to finish, which means developers can get their work done faster and more efficiently!
System Requirements
Requirements:
Supported Operating Systems: Windows XP Embedded Service Pack 2
- Minimum CPU: 728 MHz Pentium-class processor or higher
- Operating System: Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional with Service Pack 4 (or later), Windows XP Professional, or Windows Vista
- Drive: CD-ROM or DVD-ROM required
- Mouse: Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device needed
Installation Options
If you're looking to do a tools-only install, here’s what you need:
- OS: Same as above—Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional with Service Pack 4 (or later), Windows XP Professional, or Windows Vista.
- Memory: At least 256 MB RAM; going for 512 MB or more is better.
- Total Storage: You'll need about 20 MB of hard disk space.
- Your Display:: A VGA monitor is fine but aim for at least a resolution of 1024 x 768.
- Your Browser: Make sure you have Internet Explorer version 5.5 or higher.
If You Want a Database-Only Install...
- Your OS Options: Similar to above—Microsoft Windows options apply here too.
- Your Memory Needs: At least 128 MB RAM minimum; better to have around 256 MB or more.
- Total Storage Required: You’ll need about 3.04 GB of hard disk space.
- A VGA monitor will do the job!
- You’ll also need a network connection!
If you're considering combining both tools and database installations on one machine, your system will still need the same operating systems as mentioned earlier. Just make sure your memory is at least at the recommended levels—256 MB minimum and ideally around the higher side (512 MB). Also, you'll require approximately 3.04 GB of hard disk space for the database along with an additional 20MB for tools.
