Description

wfwp

wfwp is a handy tool for anyone tired of hunting down wallpapers for their PC. Instead of endlessly scrolling through images, you can dive into an extensive gallery with thousands of pictures sourced from Wikimedia Commons. Sounds cool, right?

Easy Setup and Configuration

What’s neat about wfwp is that it doesn’t need installation! Just pop it into a folder before running it. This way, the tool can create important settings and configuration files. After your first run, it sets up a small database to keep track of your favorite settings. This little database is key since the pictures picked by the tool are based on this resolved.dat file. If it doesn’t generate automatically, you’ll need to grab it manually.

Monitor Friendly Features

The developer mentions that wfwp can detect your monitor's orientation and resolution. This means it chooses the best pictures for your setup! The tool works best if your monitor has an aspect ratio around 16:9. For landscape monitors, expect picture ratios between 4:3 and 256:81, while portrait screens will range from 256:81 to 3:4.

Narrow Down Your Wallpaper Choices

With so many options on Wikimedia Commons, wfwp gives you tools to help narrow down your wallpaper choices. You can start by going to the Exclusion tab in Settings where you can easily check or uncheck themes you like or don’t like.

Blacklist Unwanted Images

If there's an image you're not a fan of, just use the Blacklist option! You can add any disliked image with one click and remove them just as easily whenever you want.

Multiple Monitor Support

A great feature of wfwp is its support for multiple monitors! You can set a unique wallpaper for each screen in your setup. So whether you're working or gaming, wfwp makes sure every screen looks good!
