What is Vocal Express?

Vocal Express is a super handy tool for anyone who loves to sing! It has three main features that make it really cool:

Load Your Favorite Songs

First up, you can easily load songs in WMA or MP3 format. Just keep in mind that locked WMA files won’t work with our player. But don’t worry, MP3s are usually good to go!

Remove the Vocals and Practice!

The second feature is awesome—you can remove the vocal track from most songs. This works really well with a lot of music, using something called AnalogX as an example. Just a heads up: sometimes you might hear some leftover vocals or the instruments might not sound perfect, but it’s still great for practice.

Record Your Voice

If the backing track sounds decent, you can even record yourself singing along! It’s super easy—just click a button and your recording gets attached as an MP3 file that you can email out to friends or family.

Change Tempo and Pitch

A fantastic feature of Vocal Express is that you can change the tempo of a song without messing with the pitch! Plus, you can adjust the pitch by up to 12 semitones—higher or lower—while keeping the same tempo. Look for the 'Pitch-Tempo' button right under the 'Play' button; it's really simple to use!

Saving Your Work

You have options when saving too! You can save your original song with new pitch and/or tempo settings, just the part with vocals removed, or even your recorded voice on top of the backing track. Easy peasy!

Lyrics Extraction

If your MP3 songs have lyrics embedded in them, Vocal Express will pull those lyrics out for you! They’ll show up at the top of your window one line at a time. You can scroll through them using your mouse or just hit those Arrow keys on your keyboard.

View Lyrics Separately

If you want to see all those lyrics in a separate window, just click on that lyrics area once. If there are no lyrics available, don't worry! You can search online for them and then add them into your song’s file easily.

Avoiding Mishaps When Saving Lyrics

To keep everything organized and avoid any mix-ups, we’ll save your song plus any added lyrics as a different file by adding '_with_lyrics' to its name. That way, you'll always know which version is which!
