USB Vault is just what it sounds like! This handy software helps you password-protect your USB flash drives. It's perfect for keeping unauthorized users away from your important files.
To get started, you'll need to install USB Vault on the USB drive you want to protect. Once that's done, you can set up a password. Just remember to keep that password safe and sound—losing it means losing access to your files!
The interface of USB Vault is super simple and looks like a mini vault that you can move around your screen. Just drag it with your mouse to find the perfect spot!
You can easily access all your files and folders through this little vault after entering the right password. If you ever need to change your password or remove the encryption, that's easy too!
However, there are some things to keep in mind. Unfortunately, USB Vault doesn't let you pick different security levels like read-only or deleting permissions for users who don’t have the password. Also, you can't minimize it into the system tray, which might be a bummer.
The great news is that this software runs on very little CPU and memory, so it won't slow down other programs you're using. It's super responsive whether you're typing or clicking around.
During our tests, we didn’t see any error messages pop up or experience crashes at all! Everything worked smoothly without any hiccups. Just a heads-up though: USB Vault hasn’t had an update in quite a while.
