Getting Started with UN-SCAN-IT

When you first open up UN-SCAN-IT, you'll see three options on the screen. You can choose to digitize a graph, load an (x,y) data file, or head straight to the main menu. It’s super user-friendly!

The layout of this software is clean and organized. Plus, there’s context-sensitive help available throughout the digitizing process and on the graph screens. So if you get stuck, help is just a click away!

Diverse Graph Options

UN-SCAN-IT gives you lots of choices for your sample graph photos. Whether it’s a standard graph, one with background grid lines, colored lines, intersecting lines, or even multiple curves and symbols—you’ve got options!

Supports Various Image Formats

You can also digitize your own images! The app reads several file formats like BMP, TIFF, GIF, JPEG, PCX, DCX, and PNG. Just upload your photo from your computer and you’re ready to go.

Digitizing Modes Galore

Once you've uploaded an image, UN-SCAN-IT offers different modes for digitizing graphs: standard line mode, intersecting line mode, cyclic graphs—there's even bar graph/mass spec options! Each mode has extra info available so you know exactly what you're doing.

Tweak Your Settings

This software lets you customize many parameters when digitizing graphs. You can adjust things like aspect ratio and color type or set filters for grid lines. There are also settings for speed and how the lines follow while digitizing.
