Description

TxtU2A

TxtU2A is a handy tool for Windows that helps you convert plain text documents from Unicode to ASCII format. It's super easy to use! You can do it right from the Command Prompt with just one line of code. Sounds simple, right?

How to Use TxtU2A

The command you'll type in looks like this: TxtU2A.exe InFile OutFile [/y] [/? | /h]. Basically, you only need to tell it where your original file is and what you want to call the new ASCII file. If you're unsure about the syntax, just use the /? or /h options to get more info.

No Worries About Losing Your Files!

The cool thing about TxtU2A is that it creates a brand new file with the converted text. So, your original document stays exactly as it is! There’s no need to stress about making backups before using this program.

Tips for File Extensions

Just remember: always add the .txt extension when naming both your source and output files. And if they're not in the same folder as TxtU2A, make sure to point out their paths too. Once you hit Enter, your new file gets created right away, and you can even check its size in bytes!

Managing Existing Files

If you're trying to create a new output file that already exists (same name), TxtU2A will ask if you want to overwrite it. But if you're feeling confident and want it done automatically, just use the /y switch! Plus, if you'd rather not see the sizes of your files pop up on screen, turn on quiet mode with the /q switch.

No Installation Needed!

This Unicode-to-ASCII converter works quickly on Windows 10 without slowing down your computer at all. The best part? No installation required! Just download and go.
