Turntable is a cool app that acts as a controller for iTunes, which is the default music player on macOS. It does more than just play songs; it lets you buy music and keep everything organized by albums. But, if you’re looking for something that makes managing your playlists even easier, Turntable is definitely worth checking out!
While iTunes does a great job organizing your music, Turntable takes it up a notch. This app helps you browse through your album collection just like flipping through vinyl records! It runs in full-screen mode and automatically opens iTunes to access your music library.
The main window of Turntable allows you to explore your music by album, artist, or record. It even finds the album artwork and shows little thumbnails so you can recognize them quickly. Plus, it looks really nice with those visuals!
When you pick an album in Turntable, it displays all the tracks with the album cover as the background. The top toolbar makes it super easy to adjust volume levels, play or pause songs, and skip tracks.
We tested Turntable on an iMac running El Capitan and noticed some quirks. For instance, the search feature didn’t work perfectly. Also, if there were other file types linked to an album (like a digital book), Turntable sometimes didn’t recognize the artwork.
In summary, Turntable gives you a fresh way to browse through your iTunes library. Just remember that it might not let you play every single track if there are issues with how they're set up. Still interested? You can download Turntable here!
