TransMouse is a cool little app that lets you personalize your computer by changing how transparent your active windows are. It’s super easy to use and gives you a few neat options to play with. But, there are some things to keep in mind about how it works.

Installation and Portability

This app doesn’t come in a traditional setup package. Instead, you can just copy the files you download to any place on your computer or even a USB drive! This means you can take TransMouse with you and run it on any PC without needing to install anything first.

No Registry Changes

Another great thing is that TransMouse doesn’t mess with your system registry settings, need extra DLLs, or create files on your disk without asking. It does update its configuration file automatically when you close it, but that’s about it!

User-Friendly Features

When you start the app, it puts an icon in your taskbar for easy access. You can easily adjust the transparency by moving a slider or typing in a number between 0 (totally see-through) and 255 (not see-through at all).

Startup Options

You can also set TransMouse to start up automatically every time you turn on your computer! Plus, with just one click, you can hide it in the system tray so it won’t clutter up your desktop.

How It Works

A quick reminder: for transparency mode to work, TransMouse has to be running. If you open windows before launching the app, those won’t become transparent. But any new windows will be transparent right away! They’ll pop above other windows and if you hover over their title bar with your mouse, they’ll go back to being solid again.
