What is TkVoice FOR LINUX?

TKVOICE

TKVOICE is a super handy Telephone Answering Machine (TAM) Frontend for LINUX vgetty. It also works as a Facsimile Answering Machine (FAX) Frontend for vgetty. Don’t have a voice modem? No worries! You can still use mgetty, which supports FAX only.

How TKVOICE Works

With your voice modem on LINUX, the "vgetty" modem software takes care of the nitty-gritty stuff when it comes to handling calls with your voice modem. TKVOICE gives you a Graphical User Interface (GUI) that runs smoothly under X11, KDE, or GNOME.

Features of TKVOICE

This program is actually a TCL/TK script that lets you record your outgoing greeting and play back incoming voice messages right through your sound card. Plus, if you’re using vgetty to receive FAX messages, TKVOICE will help you view those incoming FAXes and print them out on your printer.

No Compatibility Issues!

The best part? This program will work no matter which window manager you choose to run—be it KDE or GNOME. These types of applications don’t seem to get much attention in those popular window managers, but not with TKVOICE!

What's New in This Release?
