The Island - Castaway is an adventure simulation game set in a tropical island. You and a handful of other people are the survivors of a terrible crash. As castaways, you must do whatever necessary to survive and find a way back home.

In your adventures, your character will collect items, hunt wild animals, find rare herbs, decrypt ancient writings and solve mysteries. Moreover, tasks are usually given to you by other characters on the island, each with its own abilities and specialization.

The island is lush, large and includes 12 different locations. There are a total of 200 quests handed down to you and 14 interesting characters. What’s more, your missions will take you to more and more dangerous to locations that are awaiting to be discovered.

The gameplay is very simple. You can move your character to a visible location by clicking on it. Other gameplay elements include gathering and eating food to restore energy, using various tools and spending money.

In addition to this, you can acquire various trophies that are awarded based on your achievements. They can be inspected from the Trophy Room, which is accessed via the main menu. Also from the main menu of the game, you can access the options, start the game or read instructions.

As for the in-game interface, it includes a mini-map of the island, your current location, inventory panel, task list, currency, life and energy level, tool / weapon inventory and a “Menu” button that allows you to access the options or quit the game.

All things considered, The Island - Castaway is a pretty good indie game for adventure enthusiasts. Considering its low-budget, the game looks great and the storyline, gameplay elements and the imaginative world are quite impressive. If you love castaway stories and investigating mysterious islands, this game is for you.
