Text Encoding Convertor is one of those apps that really does what it promises. It’s super straightforward, so you can easily use it even if you're not a tech whiz.
This software has a clean and simple graphic interface. You won’t need to be a PC expert to figure it out! Just load up your text file, pick the encoding you want, and you’re good to go.
The easiest way to add files is by dragging and dropping them right into the app. Once you've done that, Text Encoding Convertor will automatically check the encoding of your document. It even shows you the full path of the file and lets you select your target encoding.
The app supports various encodings like UTF-16 BE, UTF-16 LE, UTF-8, and UTF-8 with BOM. So whatever your project needs, it's likely covered!
The only downside? You can only process one file at a time. If you need to change the encoding for several files, you'll have to do it one by one. A little tedious but manageable.
A cool feature is its integration with Windows' context menu. This means you can just right-click on a TXT file and change its encoding without opening the app first! It’ll pop up automatically for you.
You also have the option to save your newly encoded file as a separate document instead of overwriting the original. Pretty handy if you want to keep both versions!
Text Encoding Convertor truly does what its name suggests—nothing more, nothing less. While it would be great to load multiple documents at once (which would save some time), it's still a solid choice if you're working with different text encodings.
