TeXCAD

TeXCAD is a user-friendly software that helps you tweak and enhance images made in LaTeX. It has some cool features like support for macros and formulas, making it pretty versatile!

Portable and Easy to Use

This tool is great because it doesn't come wrapped in a big setup package. What does that mean for you? Well, you can just drop the program files anywhere on your computer and click the executable to get started! Unlike most other software, TeXCAD won’t clutter your system with new entries in the Windows registry or Start menu. So when you’re done, removing it is a breeze!

User-Friendly Interface

The interface consists of three main windows: one for designing, one for drawing tools, and another for line settings. You can easily open LaTeX images (.pic format) or start creating new ones from scratch. Plus, there's a bunch of drawing utilities like text options, straight lines, filled boxes, ovals, circles, filled circles, and even Bezier curves.

Customizable Line Settings

When you're working with lines in TeXCAD, you've got options! You can adjust the thickness—make them thick or thin—and choose between plain, dotted, or dashed styles. There are also settings to define how far apart the dots are on dotted lines and how long the dashes should be. Want to add an arrow? You can put it at the head of the line, at the end or both ends!

Edit Existing Designs

If you’ve got objects already in your design that need tweaking, no problem! You can edit their text or line properties easily. Plus, you have the flexibility to pick up or drop objects as needed. Want to rotate something? Or make it symmetric? All doable here! You can also save and play macros for those tasks you do over and over again.

Customization Options

If you're looking for more control over your workspace, TeXCAD lets you hide tool windows when not needed. You can change default colors for backgrounds and objects too! Adjust shadows as well as switch between grid modes—lines or points—as per your preference.

No Errors Here!

During our tests with TeXCAD, we didn’t run into any annoying error messages; everything ran smoothly without crashing. It’s light on system resources too since it needs low CPU and RAM to function well.
