What is TerraJ FOR LINUX?

TerraJ

TerraJ is a cool Java version of programs that create fractal terrain and simulated solar systems. If you’re into space and landscapes, this software is pretty neat!

What’s Inside TerraJ?

The developers put a lot of effort into making it better. They did extensive refactoring, which means they cleaned up the code to make it more efficient. Plus, they built a documented API. This makes it easy for other programs to use parts of TerraJ. And guess what? They even added new Swing user interfaces that look great!

Check Out the TerraJ Suite!

The TerraJ suite has several awesome tools:

  • Fracplanet: This tool generates fractal planets and terrains with tons of options for users to play around with. It features an OpenGL rendering preview using JOGL and can export images in POVRay format.

  • Stargen: Ever wanted to create your own planetary systems? Stargen does just that! It uses an accretion simulation to make realistic stars and planets, giving you customizable output in both text and HTML formats.

  • Planetary Terrain Generator: Another tool for fractal terrain generation! While it doesn’t do 3D rendering, it can produce images using various map projections.

  • Dole Accretion: This one’s an older star system generator included for reference. It’s not as complex as the others but still useful!
