What is tangoGPS FOR LINUX?

tangoGPS

tangoGPS is a super handy mapping app that's both fast and lightweight. You can use it with or without GPS, which makes it really flexible!

Works on Any Linux Device

This app runs on pretty much any Linux platform. Whether you're on a desktop, an eeePC, or even a phone like the Openmoko Neo, tangoGPS has got you covered.

Get Maps from OpenStreetMap

By default, tangoGPS pulls in map data from the OpenStreetMap project. And if you want to spice things up, you can easily add other map sources too!

Offline Maps Made Easy

The maps are automatically downloaded and stored for offline use as you zoom or drag around. Plus, you can pre-cache areas with tangoGPS to make sure you've got what you need when you're out and about.

Your Position on the Map

If you're connected to GPS, your current location and track show up right on the map. You can also log positional data for cool stuff like geocoding photos or uploading new streets back to OpenStreetMap.

Mark Your Favorites!

You can even display geocoded images at their correct spots on the map. Plus, it lets you mark your favorite locations and any points of interest so you won't forget them later!

Friend Finder Feature

A fun feature is the friend finder! It allows you to share your location with others easily.
