Description
sysfsutils
sysfsutils is a cool set of tools that works with sysfs, which is this neat virtual filesystem found in Linux kernel versions 2.5 and up. It really helps you see the device tree of your system. The latest version of sysfsutils has some great features:
Key Features of sysfsutils
First off, there's libsysfs. This library makes it easy to get consistent and stable info about system devices through sysfs. Then we have systool, which uses libsysfs to list devices by bus, class, and even topology.
You’ll also find a bunch of utilities in the “test” directory of the source tarball that show how to use the API. Plus, there’s a full testsuite to make sure everything runs smoothly!
What's New in sysfsutils?
Since version 2.0, there have been some changes in how attributes are filled out, which is pretty important. Also, they got rid of struct sysfs_directory, so keep that in mind.
Now here’s something interesting: Udev has been shipping with a lighter version of libsysfs since late February. This means Udevstart is now running 35% faster thanks to these updates!
The Latest Updates!
What’s New?
- Addition of two APIs that were missing from version 2.0.0.
- C++ compilation support has been added.
- A few minor fixes and improvements for subsystem support in sysfs_device.
