Description:


Synbak is an open source wrapper for several existing backup applications, providing a powerful reporting system. The backups are made using rsync.


The Synbak project was designed to unify several backup methods in a single application, while supplying a powerful reporting system.


The software allows users to make backups using RSync over SSH, SMB, rsync daemon, and CIFS protocols, Tar archives (tar, tar.gz and tar.bz2), Tape devices, LDAP, MySQL, and Oracle databases, CD-RW and/or DVD-RW, as well as Wget.


Synbak is also capable of generating reports using email, HTML pages, and RSS feeds.



Technical Specifications:

  • Works with Tar archives (tar, tar.gz, and tar.bz2)

  • Compatible with Tape devices, LDAP, MySQL, and Oracle databases
