Stripes is a cool feed reader that helps you keep all your favorite news sites in one place. You can easily manage multiple subscriptions and stay updated on everything that matters to you. With Stripes, you can import individual feeds or load a bunch of them at once using the OPML file format.
The Stripes interface is super user-friendly and organized into three main columns. On the left, you’ll see your feed list, and right next to it, there’s the list of articles from the subscription you’ve selected. It makes finding what you want a breeze!
Most of the space in Stripes is dedicated to showing you the description of an article. Just remember, you won’t see the entire content right there. Instead, click on the link at the top of the window, and Stripes will open up the full page in your default web browser.
If you're looking for more room while reading, Stripes has a mini-sidebar mode! However, keep in mind that you'll lose some visibility over individual feeds since it shows predefined smart folders instead. These smart folders help keep track of all articles, unread posts, or your starred entries.
When you add a new subscription manually, Stripes automatically finds all available feeds for you to choose from. Plus, if you're looking to save time, importing or backing up your collection with OPML is super simple!
Stripes works well with RSS, RDF, and Atom feeds! You can easily rearrange your subscriptions by dragging and dropping them around. And if sharing articles is your thing, it lets you quickly share titles on social media or via email.
The app comes with predefined hotkeys for most functions which are pretty handy! But do note that it doesn’t allow any customization options for these shortcuts or how the interface looks. Also, organizing subscriptions into folders isn’t possible if you've got a lot of feeds.
In summary, Stripes offers a lovely environment where you can check out new articles from your favorite websites all in one spot. While it integrates sharing features nicely, remember you'll need to switch over to your web browser for full posts.
Download Stripes. Even though it does its job well as a feed reader without customization options or folder support for organizing feeds; it's still a great tool!
