STL Import for Inventor is a handy add-in that lets you import Stereolithography (.stl) files right into Inventor. With this tool, you can easily bring in polygon data from Binary STL files and work with it like a pro.
How Does It Work?
This software reads the polygon mesh data stored in STL files and smoothly imports it into Inventor. So, what's a polygon mesh? It's basically made up of triangular faces, and STL Import for Inventor takes each triangle or quad to create trimmed planar surfaces. If your polygon mesh is closed (meaning it doesn’t have any boundary edges), it will generate a closed body feature. If not, you'll get an open surface instead!

You’ll love how easy STL Import for Inventor is to use! After you install it, the tool automatically loads itself into Inventor and adds a new submenu called "STLImport" right in the menu bar.
