Steampunk Resource Monitor is a cool Yahoo widget that lets you check out real-time info about your computer. You can keep an eye on important parts of your system, like the processor, hard drive, and memory.
The main thing this widget does is show details about your CPU and memory. These stats are displayed in big, easy-to-read gauges. You can also find info like battery status, how much network you're using, and virtual memory details.
You can use the Steampunk Resource Monitor on single-core, dual-core, or quad-core systems. Just pick which gauges you want to see! If CPU load is important to you, the widget lets you adjust refresh times and animations to suit your needs.
A fun feature is that if you double-click any of the gauges, it can run commands or open other apps and tools. Plus, you can change the list of commands so launching any utility or program takes just a click!
The interface comes ready to go with most gauges on by default. But if there are some you don't need, feel free to turn them off! You can also tweak the size and transparency of the widget or keep it floating above other windows for easy access.
You might wonder why bother with this widget since Yahoo! Widget Engine has been out of commission since 2012. Well, while there are tons of hardware monitoring tools available now, few (if any) have such a unique steampunk-themed look!
If you're into the Steampunk style and want to jazz up your desktop setup, then Steampunk Resource Monitor is definitely worth checking out!
