Top Toolbar Features

The top toolbar is your best friend when using SpriteIlluminator. It lets you open and save projects, add or remove sprites, undo mistakes, and even publish your final project with just a few clicks.

Drag and Drop Sprites

Getting started is simple! Just drag and drop your sprites from Finder into the loading panel on the left side of the main window. Move around the light source to create different effects. Plus, there are tons of built-in tools and effects that you can play with before hitting that Publish button up top.

Global Light Panel

If you check out the Global light panel under the Sprite panel, you'll find some handy options. You can adjust the Z value of your light source or change things like brightness and color for both ambient light and your main light source.

Display Modes for Better Results

Sometimes colors in sprites don't react well to light, making it tricky to see effects. That's where four display modes come in: Texture, Lighted surface, Lighted texture, and Normal map. These modes help visualize everything better!

Special Effects Tools

The right side of SpriteIlluminator has all sorts of cool tools for special effects. For example:

• Bevel Tool: Add volume to make your sprite look more lifelike.


• Emboss Tool: Create depth within a sprite.


• Draw Tool: Adjust parts of your sprite easily.

The Angle brush helps change orientation with two modes (continuous and discrete), while the Structure tool allows you to apply various surface effects!
