Understanding SPL Files

SPL files are basically backups of print jobs that haven't been deleted yet. Normally, printers clear these out once they finish printing. But hey, sometimes you might want to keep them around—maybe for proof or just to double-check something later. You can do this by tweaking the printer's advanced settings and turning on an option to keep printed documents.

What Can SplViewer Do?

With SplViewer, you can open up any SPL file you find. This helps save paper since you can check out print jobs before actually printing them. If you're juggling multiple printers, it makes it easy to send print jobs from one to another!

No Limits on SPL Files

The cool thing about SplViewer is there's no cap on how many SPL files you can have open at once. You can use the Windows menu from the toolbar to switch to a Cascade display which organizes your SPLs in tabs and lets you drag them around easily.

Copying Data from SPL Files

If you click on a spool file and hit the copy command (Ctrl+C), all that data gets copied as EMF format! Then, just launch any program like MS Word, PowerPoint, or Publisher and paste that data right in.
