spancopy is a handy little console tool that helps you copy files to a specific folder without any hassle. Want to copy files of a certain size? This tool makes it super easy! If your files are too big, no worries—it'll split them up and store them in different folders.
To get things running smoothly, there are some rules you need to follow. First off, make sure all the files in the source folder are smaller than or equal to your set size limit. It's a good idea to check file sizes before you decide on that limit. When spancopy copies your files, it includes their paths too. So, if you’re moving them around, the structure of your destination folder might look a bit different after.
Your destination directory must have enough room for all those files. Here’s something cool: spancopy automatically creates a main sub-folder in the destination folder to help avoid mix-ups with file names. You can spot this folder easily because its name follows a specific format: YYYYMMDDTHHMMSSMS. Just so you know, if that sub-folder already exists from previous copying attempts, don’t worry! It will be deleted before starting fresh.
