Getting Started with DNA Files

Once you load a DNA file (you'll find some sample files included), you can jump right into analyzing genetic sequences. SnapGene helps you find genes by showing open reading frames (ORFs). You can add, edit, remove, or duplicate features or primers as needed.

Handling Large Sequences

The good news? SnapGene handles larger sequences like a champ—it even supports one gigabase large sequences without breaking a sweat!

Navigating Views and Tabs

If you look at the bottom of the main window, you'll see several tabs that let you switch views to check out the sequence, enzymes (for displaying restriction sites), features, and primers. It's really user-friendly!

Exporting Your Work

You also have great export options! You can save specific selections or even entire sequences and maps—this includes features and primers too.
