Sismics Reader is a web-based server that can aggregate the content provided by the industry standard RSS (Rich Site Summary) and Atom web feed formats. The software aims to be as simple and intuitive as possible, without confusion users. Its motto is “Own your feeds.”

It is written in the Java programming language, using the JavaScript scripting language, and designed to be independent of an operating system, supporting Linux, Android Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X.

It is an open source, web-based news reader software that allows users to easily organize their RSS/Atom feeds into categories, supports import of OPML (Outline Processor Markup Language) files, exports feeds to the OPML format, and features both mobile and web-based user interfaces.

With this piece of software you will be able to keep track of your favorite articles no matter where you are (at home, office or on the go). Sismics Reader also provides keyboard shortcuts for fast navigation, full text search, themes, and a RESTful Web API (Application Programming Interface).

Being designed from the ground up as a web-based application, Sismics Reader is independent of an operating system. Before attempting to deploy it on your web server, first check out the demo on the project’s website.

It is quite easy to install and run an instance of Sismics Reader, as the project is distributed as standalone and WAR versions for all platforms, as well as pre-built binary packages for all distributions of Linux that use the DEB or RPM package managers.

Native installers for the Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating systems are also available for download on the official website of the program (see link below for details). Currently, it is known to work on computers supporting either of the 32-bit or 64-bit instruction set architectures.
