Singer Song Reader

Singer Song Reader is a free app for OS X that makes it super easy to see the lyrics of whatever song you’re playing in iTunes. Whether you're listening to iTunes radio or jamming out to your favorite tracks from your music library, this app has got you covered.

How It Works

Every time you hit play on a song in iTunes, Singer Song Reader jumps into action. It automatically looks up the lyrics from five different lyric websites and displays them all in a clean, multi-column layout. The sites it checks out include LyricWiki, Sing365, MetroLyrics, AlbumCancion, and SongLyrics.

User-Friendly Interface

The app has a simple and friendly interface that’s easy to use. At the top, you'll find an upper bar where you can refresh the lyrics and see details like the song title and artist name. Plus, there's a progress bar so you can keep track of where you are in the song.

Customize Your Lyrics View

The lyrics pane is flexible too! You can display up to 10 columns of lyrics—just use the More / Less Columns options under the Lyrics menu or hit CMD + left/right arrows to adjust them quickly. Want to change how it looks? You can also tweak the font size and type through the Lyrics menu or use global hotkeys (CMD + “+” for bigger text and CMD + “-” for smaller).

Switching Between Sources

If you're curious about where those lyrics are coming from, no worries! The lower bar lets you switch between all five lyric sources with just one click. Easy peasy!

Indicators for Easy Tracking

Singer Song Reader also comes with handy indicators—little colored squares that tell you what’s going on. If they’re gray, it means iTunes isn’t playing or the lyrics weren’t found yet. If they turn green, then both the artist and song name are available along with their lyrics!
