These operators are Python objects that work with specific populations and can be used before, during, or after a life cycle. Some examples are k-allele models and context-sensitive mutation models. You’ll also find options for gene conversion models and even multi-locus models!

Advanced Core Features

The best part? The core of the program is built in C++, which supports big-time simulations. Plus, with its interactive interface, you can create custom genetic effects using Python and explore various evolution processes in detail.

Scalability Options

What's really neat is that the only limit on the maximum population size in your simulation depends on your computer’s RAM, number of cores, and processor speed. So yes, if your specs are high enough, you can run some seriously scalable simulations with simuPOP.
