What is SimPhase?

SimPhase is a handy software suite made just for simulating electric power systems. Basically, it comes with two cool apps: the SimPhase Graphical Interface and the SimPhase Induction Motor Calculations (ICM) Program.

This bundle is super easy to install! You can get it up and running in just a few seconds. Anyone can do it with its simple installer. Once you finish installing, you'll see the SimPhase Interface pop up right away.

User-Friendly Interface

The interface is designed to help you define and analyze induction motors. Plus, it gets you ready to use the second part of the bundle – the SimPhase Induction Motor Calculations (ICM) Program. This part is really great at performing precise calculations that figure out how a three-phase induction motor behaves under different mechanical loads and terminal voltages.

Simplified Project Management

The main window is straightforward, just like any app you might expect in this field. When you save your projects, they get stored as .stu files. But first, you'll need to create a three-phase bus! To do this, just right-click on an empty space in the diagram and select “create bus.” You'll see a Bus Properties Dialog where you can name your bus and set its Rated Voltage values.

Accurate Calculations

With all your mechanical loadings defined, the SimPhase IMC Program does some serious math! It calculates steady-state conditions like speed and slip values for your motor. Just keep in mind that if you're using the free version of SimPhase, it only works with motors rated under 25 HP and doesn't support VFD speed controls.
