This software lets you work on both new projects and existing ones, whether you're in Design or Rating mode. Plus, it supports both S.I. Units and U.S. English measurement units, so you can choose what works best for you.
You can enter values manually in your project setup or load them from files like *.xml, *.xls, or *.xlsx. Once you've done that, the results can be exported to data sheets or PDFs for easy sharing.
One cool feature of this software is its wizard-like structure! It guides you through each step of the calculations. If any results go beyond normal limits, it highlights those areas so you can avoid mistakes later on.
The program automates many calculations but also lets you switch to manual settings whenever needed. For Design, there are 14 steps to follow, while Rating mode has eight stages to streamline your process.
You get to specify which materials you're using for the Shell Side (hot element) and the Tube Side (cold element). This way, you can calculate important stuff like the overall heat transfer coefficient, mean temperature difference, heat transfer area, number of tubes, or shell diameters.
The software also helps find the best materials for building your shell and tubes based on heat transfer needs and conductivity. You can even calculate pressure drops using different algorithms! Plus, it provides databases with coefficients for film heat transfer across various materials or thermal conductivity values.
