Description

RCP100

RCP100 is an open-source and modular router control plane that works great on GNU/Linux operating systems. You can use it as a standalone router or even set it up as an embedded router in a virtualized environment. What's cool about its modular design is that it allows for quick updates and new features, including support for third-party hardware!

Key Features of RCP100

This software comes packed with some essential features. It has an industry-standard command-line interface, along with Telnet, TFTP, and FTP access. Plus, there's a built-in NTP server and client, DHCP relay, DNS proxy cache, static routes, static ARP, blackhole routes, proxy ARP, Access Control Lists (ACLs), and support for SNMP versions 1, 2c, and 3. Oh! And let's not forget the RIP version 2 (RFC 2453) and OSPF version 2 (RFC 2328).

Network Capabilities

The application also supports masquerade NAT and VLAN (802.1Q) interfaces. This means you can monitor your network effectively with equal cost multipath routing and inter-VLAN routing support. The high-quality web-based interface makes it easy to configure settings and check out daily, monthly, or annual statistics.

User-Friendly Documentation

Diving into RCP100 is easy thanks to the detailed documentation available on the project's homepage. If you're looking to get started quickly or need help troubleshooting issues, you'll find everything you need there.

Command-Line Environment

This software runs in a command-line environment like the X11 terminal emulator. It's written entirely in C programming language and is available for download as both binary and source archives. Whether you're using a DEB package on Ubuntu or Debian-based distributions of Linux, RCP100 has got you covered for both 32-bit and 64-bit instruction sets.

Live Linux Distribution

If you're interested in exploring further without installation hassles, the RCP100 project also offers RCPlive, which is a dedicated Live Linux distribution based on the award-winning Debian GNU/Linux OS. You can download this as a Live CD that runs directly from a CD disc or USB flash drive—perfect for trying out RCP100!
