Radio Farda is a cool little gadget made for the Yahoo! Widget Engine. It gives you quick access to the Persian radio station called Farda. The best part? You don’t have to deal with complicated settings or options. Just make sure you’ve got Real Player installed, and you’re good to go!
The interface is super simple. It's just a small frame that you can move around your desktop using your mouse. To start listening to the Farda radio stream, all it takes is a double-click anywhere on the widget. Want to stop it? Just double-click again!
You won’t find a ton of customization here, but there are some handy features shared with other Yahoo! Widget Engine apps. You can choose to keep it on top or below other windows, disable mouse interactions if you want, and even adjust how transparent the window is. Plus, you can hide or close the widget whenever you need.
When we tested it out, Radio Farda didn't slow down our computer at all! It uses very little CPU and RAM, so no annoying error messages popped up, and it didn’t freeze or crash either.
However, since the Yahoo! Widget Engine project has been discontinued (you can still grab it from Softpedia), don't expect any new updates for Radio Farda. It also lacks some basic features you'd usually find in radio players like showing what's currently playing or letting you adjust the volume.
In summary, Radio Farda is a straightforward way to listen to the Persian radio station as long as you've got Yahoo! Widget Engine and Real Player set up on your computer. If you're looking for an easy listening experience without too many bells and whistles, this might be just what you need!
