QuteMol
QuteMol is a super cool open-source tool for visualizing molecules. It’s interactive and gives you high-quality visuals, making it easier to see the tiny details of complex proteins and big molecules. Thanks to its use of OpenGL shaders, QuteMol taps into the power of your GPU to show off some amazing visual effects!

The Brains Behind QuteMol
This great software was developed by Marco Tarini and Paolo Cignoni at the Visual Computing Lab in ISTI - CNR.
What’s New in This Release?
This update brings some exciting new features:
- A major stable release!
- You can now color chains separately instead of just by atom. Plus, you can cycle through random color schemes!
- Easily export GIF animations of your models—perfect for websites!
Minor Updates & Fixes
Some minor but useful updates include:
- A progress bar during long tasks that you can cancel if needed.
- Smoother performance with various speed improvements.
- A snapshot dialog that allows changing resolution on the fly!
Bugs? No Problem!
- The link to the QuteMol webpage has been fixed using wxWidgets v. 8.0.
- A bug that misinterpreted some two-letter atoms has been resolved.
- The clipping plane issue is gone—no more large molecules looking like they’ve been cut in half!
