Description
PySphere
PySphere is a handy Python application programming interface that helps you interact with the vSphere Web Services SDK. If you've ever wanted to manage your virtual environments more easily, this tool is your friend!
What Can You Do with PySphere?
This API lets you do a bunch of cool stuff, like:
- Connect to VMWare's ESX, ESXi, Virtual Center, and Virtual Server hosts.
- Query hosts, datacenters, resource pools, and virtual machines.
- Power on, power off, reset VMs, revert to snapshots, get properties, and update VMware tools.
- Create, delete, or move files and directories in vSphere 5.0 Guest Operations.
- Upload or download files from the guest system. You can also list and manage processes in the guest system.
- Create and delete snapshots for better management of your virtual machines.
- Monitor host statistics and performance for optimal operations.
Why Choose PySphere?
One of the best things about PySphere is that it's built on a slightly modified version of ZSI (which comes bundled-in). This makes it really fast compared to other Python SOAP libraries that don't offer code generation. So if speed is what you need while working with VMWare products, give it a try!
