ProcessList is a nifty little gadget made for the Yahoo! Widget Engine platform. It gives you a peek into what's going on with your running processes, kind of like the Windows Task Manager. But here's the catch: it doesn’t let you kill or switch between processes.
The main window of ProcessList is cool because it's semi-transparent and super organized. When you start it up, it automatically detects all the active applications and shows them in a list. You can see not just the process names but also details like the process ID, memory usage, and CPU time—plus how many total, system, and user processes are running.
By default, everything is sorted by memory usage. If that doesn’t work for you, no worries! You can change that in the preferences panel. You can sort by process ID (either low to high or high to low), name, or CPU time. Also, if you're curious about how often it updates information (default is every 10 seconds), you can tweak that too! Plus, you can set how many processes to show in the list—default is 10.
The best part? Thanks to its built-in options with Yahoo! Widget Engine, you can keep ProcessList's window on top of other panels if you want. You also have control over its opacity—make it as see-through as you'd like! And if you're tired of accidentally moving it around, there’s an option to ignore mouse events.
