Praisenter is a freely distributed and cross-platform graphical software project implemented in Java and designed to be used as a church presentation application for displaying high quality Bible verses, slides and songs in churches and other religious institutions.

The software is capable of presenting custom slides that include audio, video, and image files, supporting transitions and translucency. It also allows users to search, create and edit songs, as well as to manage scriptures. Praisenter supports notifications that will be sent to the primary display.

Praisenter presents itself to the user with a modern, attractive, easy-to-use and intuitive graphical user interface (GUI) that allows him/her to import a Bible from the get-go. After importing the Bible, you will see the main window, from where you can select verses, songs and slides to display.

The application comes with a Bible library that allows you to easily organize multiple Bibles, import them, as well as to delete them. The same type of libraries are also available for songs, slides, templates and other media that the software supports.

From the Preferences dialog, you will be able to tweak a wide range of functions, such as smart video and image transitions, overall quality, transition delay, interpolation quality, color quality, Aplha interpolation, anti-aliasing quality, text anti-aliasing quality, fractional metrics quality, stroke control quality, default Bible and template, notification wait period and template, and much more.

Being written in the Java programming language, Praisenter is a cross-platform application that supports any computer operating system where the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) technology is available, including all GNU/Linux distributions, as well as the Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X OSes. Both 32 and 64-bit computer platforms are supported at this time.
