The main window of Pokemon Showdown lets you browse chat rooms and connect with other players. You can also choose your battle format and dive right into the action.

Battles are organized into different groups like ORAS Singles/Doubles/Triples, OM of the Month, and even past generations! There's plenty of variety to keep things interesting.

Create Your Nickname and Avatar

Before entering a battle, you'll need to set up a nickname. Pokemon Showdown will give you an avatar automatically, but it's easy to change it along with your background style or chat settings.
