Paramiko is a free and open-source module for Python version of 2.2 (or higher) that lets you create secure connections to remote machines using the SSH2 protocol.
So, SSH2 is pretty cool because it doesn’t need those fancy hierarchical certificates that some protocols like SSL (also known as TLS) do, which means less hassle for you!
You might know SSH2 as the go-to way to replace telnet and rsh for safely accessing remote shells, but it’s got more tricks up its sleeve! It allows you to open various channels to remote services through a secure encrypted tunnel — think how SFTP works!
NOTE: Just a heads up, Paramiko is licensed under the terms of the GNU LGPL (Lesser GPL).
