ODInstall lets you release your application with an on-demand feature installation using just a single line of code! How cool is that? Plus, it's fully compatible with Microsoft Windows MSI API, certified for version 1.0. This means you'll have maximum compatibility with end-user platforms.

Compatibility and Ease of Use

This tool has been built as a native VCL for Delphi versions 5, 6, 7, 9 (2005), and 10 (2006). You won't need any extra libraries or external files other than the MSI.dll that your installation uses to set up your application on the user's machine.

Windows Support

The OnDemand Install feature works smoothly with any operating system that runs Windows Installer version 1.0. If you have machines using Internet Explorer 5 or higher, you're good to go!

The best way to see what ODInstall can do for you is by downloading the DemoApp. This app is like a test drive; it comes with three MSI installation features. Only the first one gets installed while the other two are advertised—meaning they'll install when you first use them.

Diving Deeper into Features

The first feature includes a small Delphi app with a button that opens an RTF readme file located in the second feature (which hasn't been installed yet). When you click to view the help file, ODInstall will automatically install this second feature in a professional manner—just like how MS Office does it—before loading your file.
