Description

On Line Timer

On Line Timer is a handy tool that helps you keep track of how much time you spend online. It’s super useful for making sure you don’t go over the limits set by your ISP. That way, you won’t get hit with extra charges for using too much Internet, and you can plan your time better.

Who Is It For?

This app mainly targets folks who connect to the Internet using a modem. Users on a LAN setup might find it a bit tricky since the app can struggle with data in the Settings window. So if you're on dial-up or similar, this might be right up your alley!

Time Tracking Issues

Now, here’s where it gets frustrating. When you first set your time, the counter doesn’t actually start at that number; it begins lower instead! Plus, every time you pull up the Settings panel, the timer seems to drop by several hours. This can be really confusing and annoying—definitely not what you'd expect from a simple timer app.

What Can You Configure?

You do have some options to customize though! You can tweak your Time on Your Account, set an Alarm that changes color when you're close to hitting your limit, and even define an Economic Period for discounts at certain times. There’s also a Position setting where you can enter pixel coordinates to move the timer around—but dragging it freely? Nope!

User Experience Challenges

The freezing feature is nice if you're switching internet lines because it lets you save your stats temporarily. But overall, while On Line Timer might work well with modems, its performance on Windows 7 and XP leaves something to be desired. The interface isn’t very user-friendly either.

If you're looking for a solid addition to your software collection that requires registration as well? You might want to think twice before adding this one!

User Reviews for On Line Timer 1

  • for On Line Timer
On Line Timer is unreliable. The counter starts lower than set, dropping time randomly. Poor GUI and registration make it hard to use.
