Narval is a cool framework that combines a language, interpreter, and a GUI/IDE to help create intelligent personal assistants (IPAs). Think of it as your tech buddy that makes everyday tasks easier!

What is Narval?

Narval stands for "Network Assistant Reasoning with a Validating Agent Language." It's the first software agent available as free software under the GNU Public License. Pretty neat, right?

How Does It Work?

An Intelligent Personal Assistant is like having a helpful sidekick. It can run on your computer or even on a server far away. You can chat with it through email, the web, or even your phone! Narval carries out tasks based on recipes you write. These recipes tell it what to do.

Installation Requirements

If you want to set up Narval, you'll need:

*Python version 2.2 or higher*

*Logilab's common library*

*Twisted*

Setting Up Narval

To install Narval:

$ python setup.py install

here's how:
download the source code from the tarball,
and move into the narval-X.Y directory.
you can also run this command to see other options:

$ python setup.py install --help

the installation will give you several useful tools like:

in addition to narval itself,
npm (the package manager), narval-runtest (for testing), and horn (the graphical interface).
