Multitouch is an unobtrusive status bar menulet that offers you the possibility to define new trackpad gestures compatible with various applications in an attempt to streamline your workflow. The app configuration procedure is fairly intuitive, and the new gestures integrate seamlessly within the operating system. In total, Multitouch can bring up to 5 new trackpad gestures to your belt. Via the status bar menu, you get to open its Preferences window that includes the gestures configuration panel. The app provides both visual and textual descriptions for each of the five included gestures, together with the currently assigned action. Multitouch allows you to associate gestures with keyboard shortcuts, key presses, mouse clicks, web browsers (Safari, Firefox, Chrome), applications that work with tabs, iTunes or windows management utilities, such as SizeUp or Magnet. Worth mentioning is that each type of action comes with its options and you get to select the one that suits you best via the drop down menu that will become visible as soon as you make your initial selection.
Multitouch brings to the table a collection of gestures designed to be easy to replicate so that they will integrate into your trackpad routine with ease. The utility allows you to use the gestures to execute different actions, such as mouse clicks or switching between tabs. Keep in mind that the app's capabilities go on top of the already existing trackpad gestures so you can get access to more options. What's more, you don't have to activate all of the five built-in trackpad gestures.
