Setting Up Your Desktops

When you first dive into MultiDesktop Manager, you'll notice that it doesn’t create extra desktops automatically. This might sound weird, but it actually makes you think about what you want to set up. You’ll be prompted to make a new desktop right away, which helps keep things organized.

Create and Name Your Desktops

Creating a new desktop opens a cool screen where you can name your desktop. This way, you can easily identify it later. Plus, you can choose a program to launch when that desktop opens. There are some default programs like the Explorer process to pick from. Just remember: if you leave the program field empty, you'll get an empty desktop—no taskbar or anything!

Standalone Instances of Desktops

Your new desktops act as completely separate spaces. That means no icons or elements from your main desktop will pop up there. One thing to keep in mind is that there’s no way to send windows between different desktops. Also, those helpful hotkeys only work for the main one.

Launching Programs Made Easy

The good news? There's a special Run command that helps you launch or browse for any programs you want on your new desktops.

No Program Transfers Upon Exit

A little downside is that if you're working on other desktops and exit them, those active programs won’t transfer back to the main one when you switch back. And once a desktop is made, there's no option to remove it either.

Your Work Will Be Waiting For You

The great part is all your instances will pop back up whenever you switch between desktops—even if you've closed and reopened the application!

A Unique Concept Worth Trying Out
