What is Mozmilll For Linux?

Mozmilll For Linux

Mozmill is an open source, completely free, functional and operating system independent UI (User Interface) automation and test framework implemented in Python for developers who are trying to build Mozilla applications.

The program can be used for writing tests, as well as an automation script for Gecko-based applications, such as Mozilla Thunderbird and Mozilla Firefox. It is distributed as a Python command-line tool, which includes a mechanism for running the tests.

Mozmill is used for testing the release cycle for security releases and new major versions of the Mozilla Firefox web browser. It can also be used for other well-known Mozilla apps, including SeaMonkey and Thunderbird.

Installation

To install and use the Mozmill program in your GNU/Linux distribution, follow these steps:

  • Download the latest version of the project from Softpedia or grab the latest code from its GitHub page.

  • If you've downloaded the TAR archive, extract its contents using an archive manager utility.

  • Open a terminal emulator application and navigate to the location of the "/mozmill" folder.

  • Run the 'virtualenv venv' command in the terminal emulator window.

  • Execute the 'source venv/bin/activate' command.

  • Run the './setup_development.py' command.

Usage

Once you've completed the installation steps, you can now use Mozmill to test user interfaces effectively.
