Microsoft Translator Desktop is a cool app that takes the popular Bing translator and turns it into a desktop application. If you like having a dedicated app for translations instead of relying on your browser, then this might be just what you need!

Easy to Use Interface

When you install the app and run it for the first time, you'll see that the translator part shows up in your native language. This is great unless you're in the US or UK, where everything defaults to English. For those who prefer English for their tech stuff, a way to change the whole app's language would've been a nice touch. Sure, there's a language selector near the minimize button, but that only changes the menu.

The Hotkey Function

The good news? The Microsoft Translator Desktop lets you translate more characters than its online version! You can handle up to 5000 characters, compared to just 3000 online. That's almost double! This is super helpful if you've got big projects or lots of text to work through.

The automatic detection feature works well too! It figures out what language your unknown text is in without any fuss. To switch languages while translating, just go to the second panel or use the toolbar menu—both options do the same job.

A Handy Tool But Room for Improvement
