medit

medit is a super easy app that’s loaded with handy word processing tools. You can use it even if you’re not a tech whiz! It supports multiple tabs, so you can work on several documents at once without any hassle.

Simple Interface

The interface is clean and straightforward, making it a breeze to navigate. You can open documents quickly using the file browser or just drag and drop them right into the app.

Word Processing Features

You’ve got options! You can adjust the indent, cut, copy, paste, undo and redo your work. Plus, searching through your text is easy with features like find next, find and replace, or even going to a specific line. Want to find a word backwards? No problem!

Customizable Toolbar

If you're picky about how things look, you can change the toolbar style to show icons only or labels only. There are also settings for encoding and line endings. You can toggle bookmarks on or off, wrap text around easily, and display line numbers for better organization.

Split View & Export Options

medit also lets you split the view either horizontally or vertically—great for comparing documents side by side. You can even display a file selector or file list pane for easy access. Need to mark something? Insert a time and date stamp! When you're done working on your document, you can export it as a PDF too!

User Preferences

You’ll find tons of options in the 'Preferences' section where you can set general settings like auto indentation. You can customize your view mode (like text wrapping), manage files (loading and saving), choose languages, set up file filters and plug-ins—all sorts of cool stuff!

Smooth Performance

This program does require a decent amount of system resources but responds quickly when you give it commands. We didn’t run into any issues during our tests; medit didn’t freeze up or crash at all! Plus, there’s user documentation available if you need help getting started.
