You’ve got all the basics covered here: you can adjust indents, cut, copy, paste, undo, redo, and search for text in all sorts of ways like finding the next occurrence or replacing words. Need to go to a specific line? No problem! You can even find the current word backward.

Customize Your Toolbar

If you want to make things look just how you like them, medit lets you change the toolbar style—like showing only icons or labels. Plus, you can tweak settings like encoding and line endings. Want to toggle bookmarks or wrap text? Easy peasy!

Splitting Views and More Features

This app also lets you split your view either horizontally or vertically. You can show the file selector or list pane, sort lines easily, insert a date stamp, export your document as a PDF, and set up keyboard shortcuts for quicker access.

From the 'Preferences' screen, you have total control over general settings like enabling auto indentation and adjusting view modes such as text wrapping. You can also manage files—loading and saving options—as well as languages and plug-ins.

The program does ask for a moderate amount of system resources but stays pretty responsive when you give it commands. We didn’t run into any hiccups during our tests; medit didn't freeze up or crash on us at all!
