This app is super lightweight! You don’t even need to go through a big setup process. That means you can pop it onto a USB drive and use it wherever you go, keeping your computer safe and sound. Just remember, you'll need Java Runtime Environment installed for it to work right.

User-Friendly Dashboard

Once you're in the app, the dashboard shows you everything you need right up front. If you're working on something for a business, you can enter details like job name, customer info, address, and notes. All that extra space? It’s just for room specs!

Track Multiple Locations

You can keep tabs on several places at once since they’re saved in a handy drop-down menu for easy access later. Most of your time will be spent entering numbers that show areas of windows in different zones or things like skylights and doors.

Quick Calculations

When you're ready to see results, just hit the “calculate” button! The app gives you four separate fields showing zone and total values for both heat gain and loss. One thing to note is that it uses BTU as its measurement unit, which isn’t super common in the SI system. While this isn’t a deal-breaker, it does mean you'll have to do some extra research or conversions afterwards.

A Good Start but Room for Improvement

Overall, Maxwell – Calculator has great ideas behind it but could use some tweaks to better meet user needs. The visuals are clear and the input fields are simple enough to navigate. Plus, the calculations are accurate! However, having more options for measurement units would really enhance its practicality.
