Map Distance is a handy app for Windows 8, 8.1, and 10 that helps you figure out how far it is between places, whether you're driving or walking anywhere in the world.

This app lets you set multiple checkpoints so you can find the total distance. It’s perfect if you're planning a road trip or a fun hiking adventure. You can even use it on touch devices!

Easy Download from Windows Store

You can quickly grab this tool from the Windows Store. Once it's downloaded, it's super easy to launch right from your Start Screen or Menu like any other pinned app.

User-Friendly Map Interface

When you open Map Distance, you'll see a world map right away. You can explore by clicking and dragging with your mouse or zooming in and out with your scroll wheel. Plus, there are buttons on the upper-right corner to zoom in (+) and zoom out (-). If you want different views, just toggle between road, aerial, or bird's eye view from the upper-left corner.

Find Distances Easily

This tool can even find your current location using GPS! Just click on two points on the map to get the distance in kilometers or miles. You can choose how you want to measure: straight line, pedestrian, or road distance. And guess what? You can mark distances between different checkpoints too!

Keep Track of Your Routes

The app shows how many checkpoints you've set at the top of the window—up to a maximum of 1000! If you need to change something, like removing the last checkpoint or all of them at once, that's easy too. There's also a search tool for jumping to any spot on the map quickly.

Your Routes Are Saved!

If you close Map Distance, don't worry! It remembers your route and will load it up next time you open it, even if you're offline! However, you'll need an Internet connection for other features since it pulls information online.

A Simple Solution for Planning

All in all, Map Distance gives you an easy way to calculate distances when you're getting ready for jogging, hiking, biking, or driving trips.

A Few Limitations

Just keep in mind that during our tests, the GPS locator didn't work well for us. Also, it doesn't show extra stats about distances between checkpoints besides just total distance and lacks options for alternative routes—only showing the shortest one.
