ManDVD is an open source and freely distributed DVD authoring application for GNU/Linux operating systems. it is backed by many powerful command-line utilities, such as dvdauthor, MPlayer, Mencoder, xine, etc., and its translated in several languages, including English, Spanish, Dutch, Swedish, French, German, Italian and Portuguese.

Key features include support for PAL and NTSC video systems, three different size for each video system (1280x720, 720x576 and 352x576 for PAL and 1280x720, 720x480 and 352x480 for NTSC), support for DVD5 and DVD9 formats, support for projects, as well as support for a wide range of video files.

It boasts slideshow support, the ability to add an introduction video to the DVD-Video disc, ability to re-encode video files, define chapters, add subtitles, cut the video file, add real DVD subtitles, and add video effects.

The application features a graphical user interface written with the help of the Qt GUI toolkit, which means that it integrates well in Linux distributions that use the Qt technology, such as KDE and Razor-qt.

The program in written entirely in the C++ programming languages for the KDE desktop environment. However, it can be easily installed and used on any other open source window manager or DE as long as all requirements are met.
